About GeoDataVision Since 1994, GeoDataVision has provided community
and mid-size banks sophisticated CRA performance evaluations and market
data analysis. Prior to starting GeoDataVision, Mr. Suzio had been in
banking in Philadelphia and Connecticut for more than 17 years. Mr.
Suzio was an executive vice president, senior loan officer and director
of American National Bank In 1994, Mr. Suzio founded GeoDataVision to provide to community banks the significant benefits that a relatively new type of software called GIS makes possible. GIS, geographic information systems, is a computer software application, originally developed in the 1960's, that transforms data into pictures that allow the user to analyze and see the geographic distribution of important business data. The ability to literally see the geographic dimension of large volumes of data substantially enhances the ability to understand this important element of information. GIS has significant benefits to banks in terms of market analysis and regulatory compliance. In fact, a major regulatory act, The Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) requires banks to generate maps depicting the geographic distribution of loans and to correlate that information with income demographics. GIS can help bankers perceive market geo-demographics (how demographic data is distributed over a geography) and to correlate loan and deposit data with demographic information. You can now see where your customers, your competition and your prospective customers are, and compare this data to your branch locations, marketing focus, etc. GeoDataVision recognizes that, while there
are many sophisticated and affordable GIS software packages available
to banks, the ability to master and to maximize GIS is dependent on
constant, if not full time, use of the technology. As a former community
banker, Mr. Suzio understood that very few community banks can commit
the time and personnel required to master the technology and maximize
its potential. Therefore, he determined that most community banks would
get far greater benefit from outsourcing this important analytical tool.
Furthermore, he understood that the ability to use relational database
techniques (correlating two distinct data sources such as census data
and bank loan data) would provide enormous benefits to client banks.
Accordingly he has retained a staff of relational database experts and
GIS professionals to provide GDV clients with the most sophisticated
analytical tools available today. You don't have to be an expert to
use GIS technology, GeoDataVision can do the work for you! |
