Many of you are probably wondering what impact this will have on your Assessment Area. There are at least two major impacts the new tracts will have on your community:
Totally new tracts have been created (the number will go from 66,287 to a little more than 74,000) - i.e., more than 8,000 new tracts The Census Bureau has identified more than 14,000 Census 2000 tracts that it classifies as "substantially changed" - this is about 22% of all Census 2000 tracts or more than 1 in every 5 tracts changed substantially Of course other tracts also may have changed, but are not characterized as "substantial' by the Census Bureau The upshot of the foregoing is that it is a virtual certainty that census tracts inside your Assessment Area will have changed for every bank. To help you determine the potential impact on your bank GeoDataVision has created a special report on the "Substantially Changed" census tracts that you can see and retrieve by visiting: XXXXXX
We hope this free tool will help you as you transition from the old Census 2000 tracts to the new Census 2010 tracts. If you need help changing your Assessment Area GeoDataVision can make it quick and easy for your. Just contact Bob Suzio at 203-245-2750 or through the contact form
